Directorate of AYUSH, Odisha was created in June 1968 with a view to providing holistic healthcare through Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy systems. The Directorate Continued to lay emphasis on improving health care facilities, upgrading AYUSH educational standards and awareness generation on AYUSH. The AYUSH systems are time tested methods to tackle life style disorders which are becoming a major threat to health in present era. These system can give a holistic approach to health system there by boosting the whole health system and contribute to the society. AYUSH systems have the heritage of community acceptance because these are socially acceptable, comparative by safe, efficacious and easily available which can be prepared at home with the available resources. The Directorate continues to play a vital role in integrating traditional medicine into mainstream healthcare, enhancing wellness and preventive care across the state.
