About the Directorate of Family Welfare

Directorate of Family Welfare is one of the leading Directorates functioning under Health and Family Welfare Department of Govt. of Orissa as an administrative agency of Family Welfare programme of the State. The principal objective of the Directorate is to stabilize the population and to provide Health services including (Immunization) to both pregnant mother and children.Family Welfare programme is mainly to reduce the Birth Rates and to stabilize the population at a consistent level.

The Family Planning Programme is not merely intended for population stabilization now but it has much larger perspective in holistic approach towards Reproductive and Child health Services, Family Planning, Immunization, Training etc. comprising a comprehensive healthy care package. The Family Welfare activities are guided as per the policies, guidelines and funding by Govt. of India.
